    Every Song Is You

    Every Song Is You

written by Debbie Hennessey, Jeffery Marshall, Courtney Leigh Heins

    No matter how far

This road takes me away from you

    The radio plays on

And I remember the crazy things we used to do

    Those songs fill my head

Mile after mile and I can't forget

You're a melody that time won't let me regret

    (chr)

    Every song takes me back

Summer sun, lost in your arms and I'm fallin' fast

    There's memories in every song

    And every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song is (you)

    You took my hand

And I never once thought twice about

    Stayin' all night long

Sure of every move, never had a doubt

    I wanted it to last

Night after night and I didn't resist

That melody, I close my eyes and reminisce

    (chr)

    Every song takes me back

Summer sun, lost in your arms and I'm fallin' fast

    There's memories in every song

    And every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song just

    (bridge)

Turns back the hands of time and there I am with you

No other sky has ever seemed so blue

    (chr)

    Every song takes me back

Summer sun, lost in your arms and I'm fallin' fast

    There's memories in every song

    And every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song just

                            takes me back

Summer sun, lost in your arms and I'm fallin' fast

    There's memories in every song

    And every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song is you

I should have known all along that

    Every song is you

    Whiskey Charm

    Whiskey Charm

written by Debbie Hennessey, Jeffery Marshall

    I'm startin' over tonight

no more miss do what's right

    I wanna feel his eyes

on a dress that's skin tight

Tall, dark and trouble at the end of the bar

I'll need a shot of courage, maybe two

cause he's what it feels like, to race a fast car

i'm fallin for his whiskey charm

wanna trace that tattoo on his arm

he's the party before the hangover

but I still wanna get closer

don't know how much longer that I can stay strong

for once I don't care if this is wrong

my head's ringing like a fire alarm

and I'm falling for his whiskey charm

    I'm replacing memories of you

by getting lost in eyes so blue

He makes me feel brand new

    tonight is over-due

wouldn't be this brave if I were stone cold sober

but I'm sick and tired of playin' it safe

gonna lay the past to rest, before this night is over

I'm fallin for his whiskey charm

wanna trace that tattoo on his arm

he's the party before the hangover

but I still wanna get closer

don't know how much longer that I can stay strong

for once I don't care if this is wrong

my head's ringing like a fire alarm

and I'm falling for his whiskey charm

he's no sin but I need to confess

it’s just so tempting in his arms

to be the devil, in a little black dress

I'm fallin for his whiskey charm

wanna trace that tattoo on his arm

he's the party before the hangover

but I still wanna get closer

don't know how much longer that I can stay strong

for once I don't care if this is wrong

my head's ringing like a fire alarm

and I'm falling for his whiskey charm

    No Longer Broken

    No Longer Broken

written by Debbie Hennessey, Lexie Hofer, Jeffery Marshall

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

    We're all looking for love

    some find it up above

some people need that little extra nudge

some find it on the run

some play it just for fun

others seek safety where there is none

but when it's you and me

you see the truth I see

One touch from you I’m no longer broken

my defenses shatter to the ground

can't have the joy without the pain

can't have the sun without the rain

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

    I can feel you now

cause all my walls are down

the missing puzzle piece is finally found

    no more just getting by

    no more always asking why

love was always waiting deep inside

cause when it's you and me

you see the truth I see

One touch from you I’m no longer broken

my defenses shatter to the ground

can't have the joy without the pain

can't have the sun without the rain

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

one touch from you I’m no longer broken

    We're all looking for love

some people need that little extra nudge

    Sugar and Rain

    Sugar & Rain

written by Courtney Leigh Heins, Debbie Hennessey, Jeffery Marshall

You blew in like a storm

    wild, brave, and free

    For me, the forecast became

    warm, sunny, and clear

Like a hummingbird is drawn to nectar

    we're endlessly pulled together

    We're like sugar and rain

    the sweet and the pain

Once we met we were forever changed

    Sugar and rain

    the yin and yang

Now we're never gonna be the same

    there's no turning back

    like sugar and rain

    Nothing could break our bond

    strong, faithful and true

Even when times got tough, I found the

strength in me and the grace in you

Though no one might have pictured us together

real love led us to forever

    We're like sugar and rain

    the sweet and the pain

Once we met we were forever changed

    Sugar and rain

    the yin and yang

Now we're never gonna be the same

    there's no turning back

    like sugar and rain

Didn't want to lose me and melt into you  (sugar & rain)

Then I saw we created something brand new  (sugar & rain)

    We're like sugar and rain

    the sweet and the pain

Once we met we were forever changed

    Sugar and rain

    the yin and yang

Now we're never gonna be the same

    there's no turning back

    like sugar and rain

    You Can't Unpull a Trigger

    You Can't Unpull A Trigger

written by Debbie Hennessey, Jeffery Marshall

Cold tequila and hot anger are burning me up inside

Turns out you're a liar with plenty of schemes to hide

But now I see you thru new eyes

You've been sneaking around on the side

Well that all ends here tonight

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

    You can't unshoot a gun

You can't undo what you did and since you can't, we're done

I hope she was worth it

Yeah, I sure hope it was fun

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

No, you can't unshoot a gun

Now people are talking and you know, I won't tolerate that

You can stop all your beggin' and pleadin' to take you back

I'm not a woman who shares what's mine

Never been known as the forgiving kind

So you can kiss us goodbye

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

    You can't unshoot a gun

You can't undo what you did and since you can't, we're done

I hope she was worth it

Yeah, I sure hope it was fun

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

No, you can't unshoot a gun

Liar, cheater, it's all come undone

Devil, sinner, judgement day has come

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

    You can't unshoot a gun

You can't undo what you did and since you can't, we're done

I hope she was worth it

Yeah, I sure hope it was fun

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

No, you can't unshoot a gun

Cause you can't unpull a trigger

    You can't unshoot a gun

You can't undo what you did and since you can't, we're done

    Let Me Go

    Let Me Go

written by Debbie Hennessey, Tracee Perrin

    Give up the fight

    I cannot win

    You won’t change your mind,

and I don’t want to give in

Our story's told, I played my part

Gotta get you outta my head

Because I'm in over my heart

    Each step I take

    You pull me right back,

    Make a clean break, and

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Baby, I was never yours

    We were just friends

    From the day we met

    Didn't want to fall,

but it’s so hard to pretend

I opened up, showed you my love

but it was all in vain

Cause you don't see me that way

    Save your kindness

    It is so confusing

If you don't want me, then

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Let me go

    Baby, I was never yours

    Each step I take

    You pull me right back,

But now I know it's me who's gotta

    Let you go

    Let you go

    I gotta let go

    Let you go

    It's time to let go

    Let you go

    So, let me go

    Let me go

Cause, baby I was never yours

    Right for Right Now

    Right For Right Now

written by Debbie Hennessey, Jeffery Marshall

I hit the snoze 3 times before getting out bed

'cause I didn't wanna wake from the dream you left in my head

and even though now I'm running late

I see your shirt, and I just gotta take

a moment to breathe in the memory of the night before

    chr

one minute I feel, like what we have is gonna last

then the next I think maybe, we might be moving a little too fast

but, you and me, we found love in each others arms

So baby we're right, yeah right for right now

Work is piling up and the boss would like me to explain

but it's not like I can tell him you're the only business on my brain

I see your name come up on my phone

texting, I can't wait to get you alone

and my heart skips a beat wonderin' is this too good to be true

    chr

One minute I feel, like what we have is gonna last

then the next I think maybe, we might be moving a little too fast

but, you and me, we found love in each others arms

So baby we're right, yeah right for right now

    bridge:

Yeah, we both know tomorrow's never guaranteed

so being lost in this moment is all that we need

    chr

    I'm Leaving the Fairytale Behind

    I'm Leaving the Fairytale Behind

written by Athena Marie Byrne, Debbie Hennessey

I don't believe in storybook endings

I don't want to play the princess cuz I'd just be pretending

    Yeah I'd just be pretending

I'm the kind of girl who makes my dreams happen

I'm the kind of girl who's not afraid to slay my own dragons

    Yeah slay my own dragons

    No, I'm not Sleeping Beauty

I'm not waiting on a fairytale

I'm not living in happily ever after

It's up to me to make my life matter

I'm not looking for a Prince Charming

I'm not hoping for my once upon a time

    I'm leaving the fairytale behind

I don't need to gaze into a magic mirror

I don't have to fit into the perfect glass slipper

    The perfect glass slipper

    No, I'm not Cinderella

I'm not waiting on a fairytale

I'm not living in happily ever after

It's up to me to make my life matter

I'm not looking for a Prince Charming

I'm not hoping for my once upon a time

    I'm leaving the fairytale behind

I can build my own castles

I can win my own battles

I'm not Snow White with her poison apple

No I'm not, no I'm not

I'm not waiting on a fairytale

I'm not living in happily ever after

It's up to me to make my life matter

    Woman (Duet) [feat. Lexie Hofer]

    Woman

    written by Lexie Hofer

    A beautiful woman

Is an honest vision in white

She’ll sing you through the night

    A strong woman

Is a brick wall up against the world

She’s an airplane flying through a storm

And she’s everything you’re looking for

I’m not gonna be just your everything

I might gonna be just the very thing you need

You could wait around if you wanted to

But you know I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do for me

And be the very thing you need

    A real woman

Is like a giving tree in the summertime

She sees the world through a child’s eyes

And she’ll wake you up with her lullaby

I’m not gonna be just your everything

I might gonna be just the very thing you need

You could wait around if you wanted to

But you know I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do for me

And be the very thing you need

The world will want what it wants of me

But I want you to see the way I wanna be seen, yay, yay

I’m not gonna be just your everything, No

I might gonna be just the very thing you need

You could wait around if you wanted to

But you know I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do for me

The world is gonna want what it wants of me

But I want you to see the way I wanna be seen

I’ll be the very thing you need

No Depression Magazine's review of the new cd No Longer Broken:
"Sometimes the boulevard of broken dreams is really a highway of smashed hearts.
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Debbie Hennessey been down that road. But No Longer Broken is in the past tense; she's looking in her rearview mirror, leaving the dashed hopes and bad shit behind. This is honest talk from a strong woman; however, the music is brimming with infectious pop/rock melodies even when the lyrics are tossing poison darts.
Hennessey epitomizes the rootsy side of Adult Album Alternative, essentially classic rock with a contemporary edge. While there are country flavors in the grooves, this is definitely a West Coast record, more Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne than Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. On "Every Song is You," Hennessey's voice recalls the plaintive croon of Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac while producer Jeffery Marshall's riffs give the track a Wallflowers kick. The title cut offers a feeling of emotional uplift from all the heartache. "One touch from you/And I'm no longer broken," Hennessey sings, and killer slide guitar makes it all go down soulful and easy.
When Hennessey lets it rip, she doesn't hold back. "Liar, cheater," she rages on in "You Can't Unpull a Trigger." The mean harmonica captures the anguish in her singing. On "Let Me Go," Hennessey leaves her soul bare - and the listener breathless. Breaking up may be hard to do, but it's worth it if it inspires albums as excellent as this." - Stacey Zering, No Depression

Some More Reviews:

(No Longer Broken) "A seasoned singer/songwriter, Hennessey imbues her craftily structured songs with a husky vocal resonance and some deluxe backup by deft players. “Every Song Is You” is our favorite, a tune whose theme is music’s power to evoke and to transport. Suffused with organ, backup singers and a neat, nimble guitar solo, this midtempo song is catchy and satisfying...Hennessey is an experienced hand who can certainly deliver a polished product." - Music Connection

(Good As Gone) "Hennessey's bold, husky delivery puts its imprint on her material, whose catchy hooks and spot-on arrangements show she knows her stuff and is surrounded by pro-calibre talent. Hennessey is a skilled artist whose polished work commands respect." - Music Connection

"Good As Gone is rock solid country-pop...undeniably hooky...(Hennessey's) collection of Nashville-ready tunes serves as a wake-up call to radio programmers everywhere. Somebody sign this girl!" - Buddy Hollywood

"Los Angeles-based country-rocker Debbie Hennessey can sing the shingles off a barn...her voice is magnificent..." - Michael Scott Cain, Rambles

“Good As Gone” is an appealing, uptempo country song, which provides a terrific showcase for Hennessey’s rich, distinctive vocals. Hennessey has a voice which sounds authentic and soulful…” – Singer Universe

“Debbie’s unique singer/songwriter artistry carries a comfortable strength in her solid vocal performance and interpretations… known for her solid stage performance, the tracks chosen on (Rustic Heart) are sure fire hits played live. (Rustic Heart) has several tracks written by other songwriters but Debbie's presence delivers each songs lyrics as a story all her own.” - Toni K, Songsalive!

“First cd (Rustic Heart) from a remarkably original artist… that inimitable flavor of country/rock/soul… of those visionaries who unanimously unite critical and broad audiences. The Album of the Month without hesitation.” - Le Cri du Coyote

Her unique voice adds a special soul to tunes that are good on their own merit, but Debbie's vocals are a breath of fresh air. It shows that Debbie puts her heart and soul into her craft. A truly solid effort from a wonderful performer”. - Rikk’s Revues

“Hennessey's excellent album, Rustic Heart, has more than a few nice things going for it. Among them: great material, a lovely voice and terrific production by Rye Randa. It's a true indie album, yet it sounds as well-crafted as most tracks you hear on the airwaves. As the title suggests, there is a bit of country in these eight songs of love and/or heartache.” - The G-Man, NoHoLA Magazine
