Hi guys,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer, for those of us in Southern CA it will continue a bit longer. We're having another heatwave as I write this letter. Personally, I've had one of the strangest summers ever but that's not why we're here so let's just get to the music news!
The big news is that the music video for Whiskey Charm is finally up on my YouTube channel, as well as here on my site. It turned out even better than I had imagined but not without a lot of work, especially by Director/DP/Editor David Lillich. The shoot took one day but the real work was in the editing. We wanted a lot quick shots to match the pace of the song and we spent many days to get it just right. Guitarist/actor PJ Zitarosa is fantastic in it and Lexie Hofer Griffith did a great job providing makeup and styling. Whiskey Charm is a co-write with guitarist/producer Jeff Marshall and probably my favorite song from the No Longer Broken cd. It took a lot of people to create the song and video so please take a minute to check the end credits for all involved. I love making music videos and I'm super proud of this one. I hope you will check it out, like it, and share it using the link that is there...please!
In other news, the song Bounce was one of only three songs to receive an Honorable Mention in the Pop category for the most recent West Coast Songwriters Contest. Bounce was a co-write with Robin Sandoval-March and Charlie Gathe, and sung by Sarah Russo. The Pop category is one of the most competitive so I'm super proud of this one too. I hope you will give it a listen.
The next big show will be November 8th for the Note By Note series in Old Town Newhall at The Main, a beautiful theater. This long-running music showcase is presented by Valencia Auto Center and the City of Santa Clarita/Old Town Newhall. Joining me will be Carla Buffa and PJ Zitarosa. I hear that Thursday Nights in Old Town are hoppin' so please stop by and make us part of your night.
In my last newsletter, I mentioned that I wrote the intro letter for an issue of the Blue Mountain Review magazine. Well, it's out now and you can see it on pages 5 & 6. This is a beautiful magazine filled with poetry, writing, music, and art.
